Usa Prisons
This is an extraordinary and truly disturbing piece, how on earth did they get into this kind of situation, where gangs rule the roost.

Well this is the South and like it or not racial tensions are rife. As pointed out in the article no doubt the guards were sympathetic to them if only to make their life easier (although I would strongly suspect a big element of racism). Once they get a hold there is no easy way of stopping them.

this is what's so hard to understand. That they have that much control, they can do this.
Three US justice officials who tackled white supremacist prison gangs have been killed. Originally formed to fight other gangs, these groups are now accused of a range of criminal activities on the outside, from drug smuggling and kidnapping to murder. How did neo-Nazi prisoners set up huge criminal networks?

The US has massive social and historical issues that we don't have regarding race hate, add that to their crazy zeal for imprisoning their young and poor and you leave a void where those people have nothing positive to relate to and so gangs of all sorts flourish which sets further divisions and parallell communities when they are released distancing them further from normal life and behaviour.
mikey, i know that, but they segregate the gangs, who seem to have a lot of control and power, either inside the prison or outside. And the Aryan gang featured is not to be taken lightly, they obviously have lots of followers, hatred of black, Jews, Homosexuals not least, and look at the murders they have committed against law officers, officials, doesn't happen here does it.
I mentioned this on another thread that first off USA has more of its citizens in prison that any other country, and that over 40 percent of those prisoners are black males, a disproportionate number one would think. Is it because they are more criminally minded, or that the system is weighted against them, i will go with the latter.
