Much has been said about the brainwashing of our children by 'nasty left' teachers, here two prime examples have been exposed.

One a member of The Socialist Workers Party is described as a special needs teacher, it would seem he is in need of some sort of 'special teaching', in the correct way to conduct himself.

The other well what can we say about her when she comes out with disgusting terms as this ‘Who wants to p*** on her grave?’

Both should be given their 'marching orders' but I doubt they will.

Unfortunately you cannot stop parents brainwasing their offspring that's why relgion even exists. However Teachers have a duty to educate not to be publicly partisan with there digusting vitriol, what lessons are they giveing to the children? No wonder we are living in an ever more nasty society. Its a democracy, Danger, and whatever your opinion, one of the features of a democracy is that some will hold opinions or views that you might find unpalatable.

For myself, the idea of a "demonstration of disapproval" over Thatcher now, some 26 years or so after she was last in power is somewhat redundant, and fairly tasteless, to be honest, but its just a fringe element.

Not something requiring calls for sackings, or exclamation points after every sentence :)

At least one of my teachers in the school I attended from 12 to 18 was an avowed communist.(So was one of my uncles, now I think of it) Strangely, this did not make me one. They did not bring their Marxist ideology to the classroom, nor was there much opportunity to do so.

I see no reason why either of these teachers should be sacked simply because of their extreme leftist views. Why do you think they should be, aog? Saying that they should be does not amount to a reason, does it? Or do you mean us to understand that they have been brainwashing children? If so, what is your evidence?

so where is the evidence that they are unable to put their own views to one side 'in the classroom'?

Propagandism by teachers, in politics or religion, should be strictly monitored in schools. Children and young people (and some adults) need to be given FACTS about all sides and let them make up their own minds. My 12 year old grandson has been asking all sorts of questions about Mrs Thatcher over the last few days and I have bitten my tongue and tried to be as balanced as possible in my answers. She did some good things (sucks blood off tongue lol!) and some not so good things.

Ok fred, what would you say if the teachers in question where in the National Front? EDL? spent weekends in NAZI meetings. Same thing? I think we know the answer.

Zeuhl I'm not talking about the classroom, their pupils have access to media, what are they going to think when they see Sir organising a hate party? See my response to fred above, would you be happy for them to teach children if they where a closet nazi? After all they don't cover that in the classroom.

Yes UXD, I'd say the same thing. And I ask you the same question that I asked aog. What evidence do you have that these teachers have been brainwashing children? And I'd ask the same question of you relating to the teachers you suggest.

Danger, does it matter what teachers do in their private lives as long as they don't bring their views into the classroom? I find it difficult to believe a BNP or Communist maths teacher could indoctrinate his beliefs into his pupils whilst trying to teach them Pythagoras Theorem

Fredpuli, one of my teachers was a communist; another was a Buddhist. It's amazing that I have survived to be such a perceptive and clear-headed thinker, really.

You cannot sack people for belonging to political groups that are legally recognised. And yes, I would definitely have concerns should a teacher, or anyone else, come to that, profess membership of the Nazi party, since I am fairly sure that a party with their manifesto would be outlawed and membership illegal.....

Celebrating the death of a divisive political figure, however tasteless you might find it, is a far cry from membership of a party committed to ethnic cleansing and genocide.
