I agree It's a working man. If she, Margaret Thatcher had been Prime Minister when my dad was 16, he may still be alive today. He worked in the coal face and died of dust disease.
That's exactly what I thought of - then I remembered the lyric and realised...slightly inappropriate (it's about a young man who loses his virginity to an older woman during the summer of love).
And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among these dark Satanic Mills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land
Although I did not like her or her policies, I think people should refrain from coming out with stupid, unnecessary slanderers songs & lower themselves, we may have bad thoughts about M.T. apart from the fact she will be remembered for the wrong reasons, she was someone Mother ( & we all have / did have one.
a positive song would be Jerusalem,
i believe she loved this country, was a patriot and wanted to do the best she could in a tough job, first woman PM, and may be the last the way things are going. I wondered what other women MP's think from all sides of the divide if they ever thought of running for the top job, still a man's world to a large degree.
