In an effort to calm everybody down, I would like to introduce a light-hearted new topic. Hope it works !

I have just seen an article in the Guardian that claims that 1 in 10 houses in the UK have a hot tub, rising to 1 in 5 in the West Midlands. This is according to a new survey, although they are not saying who commissioned the survey, who carried it out, and where the survey was done. But I expect it was somebody heavily involved in household plumbing.

1 in 10 sounds highly improbable but 1 in 5 sounds impossible !

Is there anybody on AB, living in a tower block anywhere in Britain, but especially the West Midlands who can have a quick look out their windows and give us some feedback please ?

Personally I stopped bathing with other people when I was 10 and my next down brother was 5, and have no great desire to start again.

Well he has a particular hatred for Weston- Super- Mare so I think he'd find it quite ironic. xx
I live in the west midlands and I dont know anyone with a hot tub
"I live in the west midlands and I dont know anyone with a hot tub"

Hurrah! :-)

Awful things...

Wow. For someone who supposedly does yoga "every single day", he has a lot a lot of pent up negativity if he feels such "hatred" for a town....

LOL :)

Only half naked dave50 ? Of dear, you have just removed the only reason that I could think of that would change my mind about using one ! Isn't there any fun to had in your back garden these days ?
He just thinks it's everything ghastly about a town all rolled into one, I don't think he loses sleep over it, but look on the bright side Madmen, you'll never EVER be neighbours so you won't have to look at his tacky hot tub lol.
Just out of interest, have you ever managed to get through a whole thread without the words "my father"...? lol :)

Anyway, best be off. I hope your whole day spent on Answerbank is contributing well to your education....

now now girls....play nicely !

(again)
What, they don't live in Edinburgh em10?
I'm not doing anything educational at the moment thanks Madmen, I can gear my hours to suit myself and do, and I've just come back from riding so I haven't been on here all day. Try to keep up or were you too buy checking out how many times a perfect stranger does Yoga? Do try to cheer up, you could always move to the Midlands where we have fun in our tubs xx
I always play nicely mike4444- I was just sharing a sisterly joke with Madmen ;-)
Mikey, the tub is getting hot. :)
lol....... sisterly joke :)

Ah... my apologies then ladies. The last thing I would ever want to do is to come between the Sisters ! As a mere man, I wouldn't stand a chance.
It's okay Mikey lol, I don't think she likes me very much xx

And I thought this was going to be a light-hearted discussion, unlike most others in the NEWS section this week.

Can I dare to sum up everybody's thoughts on the supposedly commonality of these bloody hot tubs, and that it just isn't true, ie 1 in 10 and 1 in 5 ?
Neighbors have one but don't seem to use it, last lot before them were swingers.

Not a pretty sight sometimes.
I can see right to the end of our street (10 houses) and none of them have hot tubs.
1 in 5 seems highly unlikely.

I'd have one if I thought the balcony would take the weight.
Yes i know a couple of people with hot tubs and we're in the west mids. There is a place on the a5 that sells them, app it used to be a little garden centre, now its exclusively hot tubs and the owner is a rather happy chappy
