The scary thing is that this story is actually somewhat believable - Palins grasp of geography has been shown to be shaky, and there were some american commentators who did confuse Chechyna with the Czech Republic...

It never fails to amaze the things that people rush to believe on the internet without having scoured the internet to research whether somethings true or not.
If you told me something as wild/big as this the first thing i'd do is scour the internet to try and find it's source, the 2nd would be to see whether it's just a joke/scam and only if it checks out on several reputable sources and the date is not April the 1st will i begin to believe it lastly friends and family who may be interested would be informed.
