Prison should be hard and unpleasant. It should also be a place of learning for those that want to.

If you want to learn then life becomes a little easier in prison, but still not tv's playstations etc. If you dont play ball you get a very rough time. Still kick off a month in solitary should sort it.

Ease the prison population by stopping foreigners coming into the country and booting out those that commit crime then we will have more resources.

Long ter lifers should be third partied out to Saudi, Turkey or Thailand where they know how to run a jail. £100K a prisoner should cover it.
I imagine all that will do is quadruple the suicide rate in the first two weeks, double the amount of beating and bullying new prisoners get from other inmates and cause further mental illness to a population where mental illness is already rife. what a very stupid idea.
So why does Norway's prison system of providing prisoners with such luxuries as TV, designer furniture, light and occasionally even the opportunity to go skiing work so well, ymb?
