It appears very much to do so, according to this report, not only leaning to the Left, but also racist and anti Christian it would seem.
/// It was also accused of ‘downplaying’ violence by Islamists while being happy to criticise Christianity and report on the activities of other violent extremists. ///
/// It said: ‘In contrast to violence perpetrated by white-skinned extremists, the BBC tends to downplay any violent activity on the part of extremists.’ ///
/// It added: ‘The BBC feels uncomfortable tackling Islamic extremism or aggression by minorities; it feels more at ease to see Muslims as victims of racism or Islamophobia.’ ///

the Mail is biased towards ensuring you don't get cancer, and what could be nobler than that?

having lost my o/h to cancer, and the brother in law, two close friends, and my mother has it, i really don't want to comment what caused theirs, suffice to say that it can be almost anything, rogue gene, inherited, lifestyle, which indeed is what many doctors have been saying for a long time. I really don't think poking fun at the mail in this way is especially helpful.
AOG, do please tell us what your opinion of the agenda and aims of the NCF is .
Do you think a self-proclaimed organisation of the Right; one of its aims is to stop political correctness and what it describes as the left and liberals dominating in the Culture Wars, which it says is for control of opinion-forming media ; is going to give us a neutral opinion?
And are you surprised that the Daily Mail, so renowned for its own fondness for the left, for liberals, and for 'political correctness' , chooses the NCF for its reference ?

A bit of ammunition for you, aog. Philip Katz has left the Guardian to go to the BBC , where he will head Newsnight, the BBC's 'flagship' news and comment programme.
Now, there's compelling evidence.
Or perhaps not. The new edition ("31/5/ '13") of Private Eye (editor Ian Hislop) says that he was "repositioning the paper's political coverage in a manner which was distinctly more favourable to his erstwhile neighbour, Boris Johnson"
Strange how things may not be what they first seem, isn't it ?

An Independent report.
Independent my ar*e. The author, Ed West is a Daily telegraph Columnist who appeals to the swivel-eyed loon section of the readership. He is obsessed with immigration and lefties, so it is no surprise he has penned this dubious report.
To judge whether the BBC is biased leftward, one would need to be daily politically neutral, and Ed West definitely is not
His recent Telegraph articles include:
● Mass immigration and the housing market – two Ponzi schemes that benefit the wealthy
● Why are taxpayers supporting pro-immigration charities?
● The tradition of learning French is dying. So much for multiculturalism
● Immigration is just a subtle way of 'offshoring' jobs: so why isn't the Left against it?
● Yes, many Catholic priests are hypocrites. But so are the Lefty media. Most people are hypocrites; get over it
● Ukip is a reaction to Britain's new class system
● Rich, white, hetero males vs the United Victims of the Diversity Rainbow – an example of how the world doesn't work
● Note to Bulgarians and Romanians: Britain is rubbish
● Put the military in charge of Britain's foreign aid
●What's the point of having a Tory party if it refuses to challenge the liberal consensus?
● Quotas for white working-class kids at university
● St George's Day – a meaningless, fake tradition invented in the 1990s to sell beer
● Nigel Farage has successfully positioned himself as both Thatcher's heir and a man of the people
● Don't blame Margaret Thatcher for Britain being selfish: blame your hippy parents
● The worship of 'equality' has played a part in the recent rise of anti-Semitism
● Pope Francis is the first non-European pope since 741 AD: Christianity is becoming a non-European faith.
________
He finds the BBC biased, because he himself is so far rightward. He is obsessed with race, so anything that does not conform to his extreme rightwing views he labels 'lefty'. If the BBC do not conform to his agenda then he says they are deliberately stifling the debate. When the truth is the BBC follows mostly a unbiased and apolitical journalistic line. Unlike Ed West.
The Daily Mail Group and the BBC are rival news and broadcasting organisations. Which is why the Mail print anti BBC articles no matter how rubbish they are.

Ha Ha after the Thatcher funeral debacle and its complete lack of reporting over the decimation and privatisation of the NHS anyone who thinks there is a left wing bias at the BBC needs to take a good hard look.
Up to those points I always thought that they strived to walk the tight rope and that it just suited purpose of those eother right or left to attack and never praise.
I also thought that certain other media interests had a vested interest in undermining the BBC.
Now I realise its just a bunch of Oxbridge boys and gals who would be tories if they weren't at the Beeb
