Good. His continuing refusal to help locate or bring a conclusion to the whereabouts of her body is unimaginably sick. What the hell did he expect the verdict to be while that piece of information was withheld.

bazwillrun, Bridger was charged with abducting and murdering, unlawful disposing of and concealing her body, with intent to pervert the course of justice.

The jury would have had to deliberate on all the charges and evidence, and to consider whether there was any merit in his defence of accidental death. Sounds obvious to us, but they still have to discuss and agree their verdict, and this takes time.

I too hope he gets the WLT, and reveals where the remains might be.

baz, have you ever been on a committee ? :). That's what a jury is. Though juries do seem to take longer now. The majority verdict can be taken at a bit over 2 hours; that's what Parliament thought was sufficient for ten to agree, two disagreeing, in the late 1960s. Now we see juries having overnight retirements in quite ordinary cases.

In the days of hanging, in the 1920s, one foreman was asked about the time taken and replied that the jury was unanimous upon retiring but they didn't think it decent to return a verdict straight away, as the accused wretch was going to be hanged, so they sat around chatting and smoking for an hour !
