Why is it a new menace?

Surely it's better than smoking?
Question Author
just as bad, stinks to high heaven and makes smokers think smoking is allowed.
So what is the menace, I roll my own fags and was standing in a shop rolling one, the assistant said "you can't smoke that in here". I pointed out that it was not lit. She was not amused when I said that on the side of a bus I had seen an advert that 1 in 10 teenagers had an STD which is why I never travel on a bus.
Electronic fags are a good idea imo.
They are odourless. I don't know what you've been smelling.
I was not aware they stank to high heaven, rather the opposite in fact - have you some evidence TTT?
Question Author
They are far from odourless, last time I smelt one in a pub it smelt like socks that had been on for a fortnight. Some have some sort of fruity/herbal smell that sometimes isn't too bad.
Just let people smoke if they want to for goodness sake! ( I am a non smoker)

Apparently not.

*** Although it contains nicotine, there is no burning and only odourless steam is produced. ***
Mamy, they don't, he must be mistaken.

The reason they can be used in public is because they are odourless and smokeless.
Tora - the person must have smelt. Not the ecig.
They had old socks on then.
Question Author
They are not odourless. I can smell them, some guy I know in a club I go has given ip smoking and puff on these more or less constantly and he uses various capsules that produce a cloud that is far from odourless.

If they really are odourless/smokeless I would have no objection,
unless of course it encouraged someone to light-up a real one.
If they had a odour they wouldn't be allowed in public places...simple.
Question Author
So my nose isn't working then! I can tell blindfold is someone is puffing one of these. They may claim they are odourless they are not.
Maybe we have to consider their are some types that you can add essences to, have just read on a forum of Vanilla and Mint , though why the guy in the Pub chose socks is a mystery.
Maybe a veto on aftershave and perfume may follow.

LOL
I believe some have a fetish of sorts , read it in Readers Digest I think.
Okay...the normal ones are odourless. I've never smelt the fruity ones.

Like Mamy says, shall we ban aftershave and perfume?
