Two weeks ago the press was full of stories of an affair that left David Cameron amazed. All sorts of repercussions would befall the government. Was it the Blair/Deng affair becoming known?

LOL........no idea....but good "innit."
Yeah I had wondered what had happened to that.

Wha' - so the child - isnt a beer swilling Oz who gets drunk and hits everyone but instead is a holier than thou (rich but not as rich as previously) pious Roman Catholic whose mother has a good legal brain ?

Has the child been told ?

[I think that might be step-mother]
Don't knwo but who'd have thought Tony B Liar would have had it in him!!
I think Robert Peston should either spill the beans or keep his mouth shut. It`s a bit cowardly to hint at something through tw@tter and cause wild speculation and upset to someone`s family IMO
.

I think I have to add that these are all rumours
strongly denied by our former prime mininister

whose view therefore is: that he didnt have it in him
as we sort of always really thought
Yes, I wondered that but discounted it because it didn't fit the decription a fortnight ago. The affair was alledgedly between:

A Conservative. Blair sort of isn't.
Another Conservative ex Cabinet Minister: Deng isn't that.
It could bring down Cameron. Blair/Deng wouldn't do that.

So I think this is entirely different.
I believe the original affair was a sort of media-political one - but not Blair, he just doesn't seem the libidinous sort.
He doesn't seem the type to believe dodgy intel about WMDs either but history shows us otherwise.
a bit harsh, 237SJ: Peston said he'd been told the reason for the divorce was a shocker, but that he didn't know what it was. That's rather restrained - many tweeters would have used the opportunity to hint that they did know. So he's hardly causing anyone any upset.
The affair everyone was talking about a few weeks ago didn't involve Tony Blair.
Given the opportunity and the possibility of it never being discovered wouldn't (almost) any man? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Peterpedant, I didn't understand your first reply. What has a child and a RC mother got to do with it?
Perhaps it was all a ruse to get us to stop talking about really important matters, like why the Tories are so far behind in the Polls.
I hadn't heard that story, Gromit. Creepy. Not that DC and his horse-riding is any better.
