Given that the age of consent in Italy is 14, it would presumably have been perfectly acceptable for Mr Berlusconi to pick up a 15 year old schoolgirl for his activities. On that basis, it seems somewhat ridiculous to make a crime of having sex with a 17 year old prostitute!

Perhaps I am guilty of using too much common sense here but I just can't work out why this tw*t is still so popular in Italy. If even a minor Whitehall official had been caught hosting Bunga bunga parties, he would be dismissed with immediate effect, let alone a Prime Minister ! And yet the Italians still continue to give this oaf the time of day. Its a complete mystery to me !

I rather like the guy.....Italian friends that i have told me that he was very popular with the electorate.

mikey...haven't got the time or inclination to read the Wikipaedia stuff........so he wasn't and isn't perfect.....who is?

You go into an Italian hospital and by and large you are treated by Italian doctors and nursed by Italian nurses.....more than you can say about the UK.......OK not entirely due due Berlusconi but maintained whilst he was in office.
As I mentioned for a maldoer,he was popular with the voters who knew of his indiscretions. Sir Robert Walpole, Bill Clinton, Profumo in the 60's John Major and who knows who else.....Judges, Doctors and so on...all perhaps have dark side......his side is darker than most.

Sorry mickey.....he is different....I just like the guy.

Newsflash: Most Italians don't think or behave like uptight Brits. They're too busy grabbing what they can from the failing Europe project and having a good time.
We sit sour faced and obeying every mad rule and regulation to the letter as we slowly sink into the cesspit that our 'betters' are creating for us.
