A U-Turn. But one I welcome.

// The government has shelved plans to introduce a minimum price for a unit of alcohol in England and Wales.

Minister Jeremy Browne said the policy would remain "under consideration" but said there were fears the change would hit responsible drinkers. //

It would only have meant a bottle of the cheapest vodka for £10 instead of £8.50
which would have had no effect but increased profits to the shops.
There are plenty or drug users who control their habit and live family lives and hold down responsible jobs.
