We see many Far-Right protesters who have been beaten over the head by police with batons, but never hear of them making formal complaints.

Far-Left or Far-Right if they take p[art in such confrontations should expect to suffer the consequences.

The Met still think it's ok to beat protesters up, nothing learned from the killing of Ian Tomlinson and all skilled in the tactics of his killer Simon Harwood. They're also quite happy to do this in full view of CCTV, as they're immune from prosecution.

It's time this rotten and corrupt organisation was disbanded and replaced by a service accountable to the people!
so the police don't get hurt then, are they supposed to put up with joe public lobbing bottles, missiles, and petrol bombs at them. This may not have been the case this time, but let's put some perspective into your comments.
em10, yet again speculating on nothing but biased and preprogrammed attitudes. You are quite disappointingly rather predictable.

Apparently she was kicked below the knee and knew immediately that her leg was broken. She was taken to hospital and went straight to theatre, with a serious compound fracture of the leg below the knee and may need plates and pins, and a bone graft, probably more surgery and laid up for around 8 weeks.

She reckons it was a cop what did it, so does she have the right to complain or not?
and you are just as rude and arrogant as always,
Em - you haven't answered whether you've broken a bone?
if you actually read people's responses, including mine way back, i said yes she would, get off your high horse. Have you a link to the information you have just said.
yes. happy now
em10, I apologise, caught up in the moment.
this case was a little while ago, has no one updated information, a serious matter such as this, if the police officer, officers did this, then there would or should be a full investigation. I have sympathy for the woman, however i have sympathy for the police, they often stand in the middle of the argument between opposing camps, or at football matches, not sure at times what is worse.
Sometimes, I think the British dont appreciate their freedoms to demonstrate. In lots of countries, demonstrations are banned. Here the authorities allowed two separate demos to take place. That however, is not enough for some people. They feel they have the need and the right to get at each other and cause mayhem. When the police try to keep them apart, they cry 'Police State" etc.
Let them demonstrate on some deserted island without the safety of the authorities to maintain order. Most would not even attend let alone go back for more.
The British Police are not faultless, but you would be hard pressed to find better. Who or what would the critics replace them with? Just my thoughts.
If we take her testimony at face value (and I admit that may be a big If ) then this was serious assault.

The key point is that tshe alleges she was kicked 3 times.

Now you can argue the pros and cons of the Police needing to use force but the extent of this injury and the number of times she was struck is not an appropriate response to an unarmed protestor.

It sounds from the fact that the police were trying to talk to her at the Hospital in A&E as if they may be concerned themselves that this may be bad for them - they may have video evidence which reflects badly.

Of course it might equally be that she's exagerating it in hope of a compensation settlement

We'll have to see what the complaints commission come up with - they'll get medical reports, testamony and video evidence.

In any case AOG is being disingenuous in trying to characterise Unite against Fascism as far-left.

The difference is that whilst they may have far left members their objectives are not far left - they have no ambition to bring Socialism to the UK - rather to oppose the BNP and other Far Right organisations.

They are Far Right because they have far right objectives

/yes. happy now/

Could have just answered that when I asked you.
i found the same article, information in various papers, socialist worker for one. I can't seem to find out how things are progressing, what have the police said for one thing.
both felt the same, excruciating pain. why does one have to prove anything on here.
It was a question. No one has asked you for evidence!!!

Not as interesting as this:

Metapedia is a multilingual electronic encyclopedia which focuses on culture, art, science, philosophy and politics. It is considered to contain white nationalist and white supremacist,[2] and far right points of view.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metapedia

Looking closer AOG's link to Metapedia - this site seems Not safe for Work and is classified as neo-nazi

I will report this and let Ed decide
Blocked here at work on grounds of discrimination. Shame, really. There's nothing like a bit of neo-nazi conspiracy theory to set me up for the day :-)
Unfortunately, I was able to read the link that AOG provided.

I feel distinctly grubby, now....:o(
