...is excited about the eminent birth of this child.

Well , that's according to the Prime Minister .

I dont feel excited - should I therefore go and see a shrink - cos there must be something wrong with me .

Do you agree ?

I'm interested, but I'm not excited in the least - so there must be something wrong with me too.
"Excited" is a bit strong, "interested" maybe. Would like to know all ok and what sex it is, name etc.

100 % what ?
couldn't care less about it, and so making a point of avoiding any news/progs which might feature the non-event
I couldn't care an eff....
agreeing with you!!
I wonder how many more threads can be posted on the subject...
Hope everything goes well with the birth of this child, but excited, no.
Question Author
Do you know any good shrinks ?
I think it's very very exciting and I am really looking forward to hearing whether it's a girl or a boy and the names. Loving the whole thing and enjoying the hsitory in the making aspect.
eminent birth of what child?
Baz, seems you've got a bunch of weirdos here. Where's that couch? Move over. ;o)
It is history, yes. Seems to be a male/ female divide here?
I'm with you, Bazile. Couldn't give a XXXX!
Maybe the Prime Minister is wrong about yet another item ! It's happened before... (many times)
We've also got to put up with the fawning lick-spittle reporters on the TV & radio.
OK Mr Grumpy (that would be you) snit excited

but the rest of us are: and yeah the take off of Baby timmy and the Tiger who came to Tea I thought was good - German, Dutch and Flemish - I was looking forward to Egyptian Arabic Turkish and Mandarin.

and the time lapse of Bucklebury Church Clock - 1600 to 1615 in fifteen seconds was enjoyable - it was a pity that they didnt supply the smell of new mown hay....smell-vision I think it's called.

And Slow Tom from Bucklebury is talking on the tee vee - slowly as a countryman would, as I speak, and also not very interestingly - but then he is a countryman. The child is born - he intones.
Oh God Tom - do you know something we dont? the hack asks It is not even crowning (obstetric joke there)

Cut to Harewoor House - *** somewhere else in England - the long sunset is bathing the sandstone in a rich golden glow in an eighteenth century Indian Summer.

[ In Cold Comfort Farm Mary Mouse given herself stars in the margin for particularly literary writing and readers will notice I have awarded myself three stars *** for the Harewood House bucolic scene.]

I was just think when Bazile interrrupted how much more scenic it was to see various sun drenched Georgian country houses

than it was a few days ago to be treated to how Winnie and Mandlo Mandela wish to make yet more money this year.....

But I think it is just a matter of taste and discretion
The amount of near hysterical interest generated by this so called historical event is almost, well, quite inconceivable.
I didn't vote for DC nor do I need him to say im excited about anything,
