Another saga of 'alarm bells went unheeded' ineptitude but doubtless an inquiry will leave no stone unturned and lessons have/will be learned blah, blah, blah.

Even worse, this vermin had his sentence reduced.

There just doesn't seem to be the appitite to sort this sort of thing out.
Until officials are held accountable (and sacked without huge payoffs) it will sadly continue.

It is shocking. It's entirely his responsibility, but, having worked in a nursery, i wonder how on earth he found the opportunity. If one of our staff had disappeared with a child for more than a few minutes, someone would have checked they were ok.

he didn't have his sentence reduced, it's still life. The minimum before parole can be considered was cut; but I'm not expecting him out any time soon.

Be nice though for once for someone to be found culpable or at the very least admit their failings and have the decency to admit they failed to do the exact job they're employed to do.
As ever in these cases there is never any accountability.
