I do remember Gaddafi>>Saddam & also the unessary loss of lives, there is only one State that has the armour, there is only one State that can do the Job.
The Republicans are in disarray at the moment. They are unlikely to be able to use this simply to challenge his authority.

Why do western countries continue to try and 'westernise' the Middle East? It has been going on since the 11th century and has singularly failed each and every time. Why continue to do the same thing and continue to expect a different outcome? There's more than enough fire power and finance in the region to resolve the problem amongst the Arabic Nations by those same nations if, they feel as strongly about the situation, as western countries.
Obama has the right to take action without the sanction of Congress. From what I have seen, the American public are as tired of interventions into Mid East conflicts as we are in the UK. It will be interesting to see what happens but if there is a vote in Congress, I think the result will be very close.
