I have just read this report and haven't delved in to it too deeply, but I am repelled and horrified.

Sometimes it seems to me that 'society' has to blame an authority such as the police, social workers, the Beeb in the Saville scandal (as an example), the employer.... blaming the perpetrator isn't good enough.

And I agree, Mamya, about the train driver. A selfish way to kill yourself as is jumping off high buildings in public places.

No doubt there will be a 'docu-drama' on tv about this evil man's life in a few years as seems to be the fashion. :(

That's exactly right, hc. It's always the fault of someone who didn't stop them. Why take responsibility for anything, if you can blame someone else?

Well, I am very glad I've had the opportunity to vent my disgust here rather than go to bed and be raging inside all night.

It's good to let off steam although I am still a bit shocked by the whole thing.

Far East and Africa are two places that are well known hunting grounds for people from Europe and America who love mollesting and having sex with young children. I have always believed in one thing and that is what I tell my children. I have teenagers myself and they have recently started going to spend few hours with their friends at their homes over the weekends and their friends come to our home too. I have told my kids that I see their friends with the same eye as I see you all and only then I expect their friends parents doing the same to my children. Unfortunately majority of the people here do not do that.

Yes, I was wondering the same...but I think the difference is that he was a first officer, wearing a captain's uniform.

It seems (to me) a very minor difference.

It is a truly horrible situation.

At least these poor children are spared the ordeal of evidence and a trail, but that is scant comfort for what has been done to them.
