He's a successful comedian...therefore I think he knows quite a lot about comedy.

I assume you don't find him funny. Fair enough, but comedy is one of those very subjective things - you might not find someone amusing, but that doesn't mean they're not amusing.

I can't stand Celine Dion, and would rather hack my ears off than listen to a whole album of her incessant caterwauling...but I accept that the woman knows a lot about music.

Well..... as posters on this site can appreciate, he has an opinion, yes?
Difference is he can use his fame to express his opinions in the media. He does divide opinion, I liked his stand up but dont like him when he is interviewed.
