It seems that not giving away enough public money for empty bedrooms is now a human rights issue. What about my human right not to have my tax money squandered on professional spongers?

Yes I remember, good wasn't it.
I don't know. I was only 18 (I think) and was busy not caring :-)

I know I got 1 poll tax bill before it was abolished. I never paid it.
I never paid it.

You and many thousands more, ummmm.
just as I thought, I have had to support scroungers like tonyav and ummmm. You'll be hearing from my accountant, you two.

But the real shock in this thread is seeing TTT demanding his human rights!
You'll be hearing from my accountant

Thats ok jno, just scrounged some lunch before I head of to work to scrounge some wages.
No doubt you expected your bin emptied and street lights on etc tony. If you didnt pay you scrounged. Trying to compare it with your wages is barmy.

Back to the Post, this woman was not invited, has come over with a left wing agenda (she constantly refers to it as bedroom tax not by its correct name as an independent would) and seems to totally ignore the fact that real poverty in her home country is rife. Just who does she think she is to lecture us?

It will be interesting to see if Milliband hops on the band wagon. I suspect he may not as this woman is a liability and it could back fire on him.
She has at least apologised for calling it "Bedroom Tax" -- which of course it is not, and while I dislike the policy myself I still think it should be given its proper name. And why should it matter that there are problems in Brazil? Just because there are problems there doesn't stop there from being problems which housing here. And this is a bad, and ill-thought through policy.
