fine by me. Other countries have used them for years. You actually feel you're holding something that might last rather than crumble to fluff in your pocket.
well at least you can launder your money now.
Will be an end to me finding soggy, crumpled £10 notes in my pockets after emptying the washing machine!!
I can accept the "pro's" to this idea and it wouldnt bother me
Not sure I'd like them.
(Good answer DT).
Cleaner, more secure and will last 2.5 times longer...... What are the drawbacks then other than "Not sure I would like them?"
A con seems to be that they shrink when ironed.
How many of you have even thought about ironing a bank note.
Don't know, I'm not sure !!!!

Ah, but our current bank notes are quite capable of surviving a full 60 degree wash and tumble dry (I found a £20 in a pair of jeans after doing just that).
In fairness they can survive a wash!

Rarely handle cash, use D/Cards mainly, so don't see a problem.
just give them a good scrub and peg them out, DaisyNonna

Money Laundering sp?
I recieved my first plastic money in the post yesterday--$20 plastic money.
felt so different from paper, but was good quality.
Difficult to say until one has experienced handling one. I suspect the feel would be less pleasing, but if it has greater longevity it sounds ok. So far.
Don't know I haven't felt one yet.

I don't know what ours will be like but Aussie notes just felt...odd.

Really difficult to explain. My mates all agreed that they felt odd, but then, our Australian mates who were used to them didn't notice anything odd.

Actually I think I can explain what it is...you're handling something that looks like paper and always has been paper - but when you touch it, you realise it's something completely different.

Like when you bite into what looks like a hamburger and you find it's a bean burger, not a meat burger...
have them in Oz,not notice alot of differense, also water restantor @ leas better than ours!our notes are so dull, could be jazzes up some
they couldn't all be the same size though, surely?
(thinking about the blind and those vision impaired)
As long as they spend I'm not really bothered what they're made off
alba

though reducing in size generally I don't think there are any plans to lose the size differentiators
