Awful and still ongoing. These shootings just seem to becoming more and more common, thought one shooter dead and possibly two others still at large.
Where does it end?

Suffice to say, for all their sophistication as a nation, there is some genetic carry-on from the 'frontier' days that instills into Americans the need to carry guns for protection.
Because no party would ever be elected on a 'no guns' ticket, the whole dreadful scenario rumbles on with no end in sight.
Truly tragic - again.

//Maybe they should do away with the gentle lethal injection and introduce death by meat mincer, steamroller or a thousand cuts.//
Never fails to amuse me the faith people have in the notion of deterrent in the face of overwhelming evidence
Deterrent doesn't work if people don't think they will be caught, act under the influence of drugs or alcohol or probably in this case plan to be killed in the act.
In the middle ages there was torture, hanging drawing and quartering - yet people still committed treason etc.

mikey - I think it is over-simplstic to put this approach down to stupidity.
We are talking the 'wisdom' of generations, where people whom you may otherwise have thought of as perfectly normal, think that owning and knowing how to use a gun is a desireable character trait - and that notion is passed down through generations, and continues to be so.
It is as engrained as the last couple of generations in the UK's perception that having a good night out equates with a serious dose of alcohol poisoning - although it has to be said that the US concept's effects are of a more permanent nature!
