But it should be pointed out that the American sub-prime market debacle, and the international banking collapse wasn't caused by Labour employing more nurses.

People have such short memories. Have they forgotten that Labour brought in the minimum wage, gave devolution to Wales and Scotland, amongst lots of other things that everybody, including the Tories now think are good ideas ?

The Tories have now been in power for over 3 years, so if what they are doing is so popular, and Ed is so unpopular, why has Labour been ahead in the Polls for so long ?

The Tories had many unpopular economic policies to introduce, so as to overturn Labour's disastrous ones, but they are now coming to fruition proving that although at first unpopular they are now seen to be working.

Why do you mention East Anglian farmers in particular? The University of East Anglia says subsidies to farmers are more than half the money produced by agriculture each year.

I am still puzzled Svejk. Why would these "working class" people that you know think that the National Minimum Wages isn't a good thing ?

Even the Tories think that its good, despite making no attempt to bring it in for nearly 18 years. Is there a Party that these friends of yours can vote for that would repeal the legislation ?

Labour are not really campaigning on the economy.

The Conservatives' pledge that they would pay off the deficit is in ruins. Instead of paying it off, they are borrowing even more.

It may be a regional thing, but where I am, North West England, I can see no sign of any economic recovery. If that is in the south east, it won't really help the Conservatives as they already have those seats.

The elephant in the room on that poll AOG, is that UKiP are equal with the Conservatives and Labour on Europe. If Europe does become an issue at election time, UKiP are likely to take more votes from the Conservatives and let Labour in.

Once again I don't think you understand where I am coming from, I wasn't supporting the farmers I was trying to say that they do not support the minimum wage, and that is why not many pay it to their immigrant workers.

I've yet to meet 1 person who's wages went UP to the minimum wage. Know a few who's wages went DOWN to the minimum wage. Of course there are probably cultural/economic reasons for this. Apart from work colleagues, I only meet people in the pub. I wouldn't have met the sort of people who earned less than the MW, not least because they couldn't afford to go there.
However I did say people that I know. Unlike you, Mike, I don't claim to know what everybody thinks.
Personally I think £6ph is pathetic. If we're going to have a minimum wage, let's set it at a reasonable level. (I was on £6ph 30 yrs ago & I struggled to get by on it.)

I do not believe so. The Coalition's whole approach (due to Cameron) has been to bash the lives/working conditions of the lowest paid members of society. The government's "angle" has been to 'offer sweeteners' to its supporters and to not listen (or act on) any justified criticism for those affected by its actions.
It is ABSOLUTELY fair to say that Labour has the interests of the whole country at heart, and the voters see that. The truth will out, about Chancellor Osbourne's so-called 'fix-its.'

Can't agree with you entirely there sqad. If the people don't care about Europe, I'm not sure why UKIP has as much support that it has. After all, its a one issue party....get out of Europe. Of course, it only has minority support, as the YouGov Polls shows.

Its takes a long time for any economic recovery to be felt by a majority of people. When prices are going up and up, as energy prices are shortly to do, its hard to feel good about things ::

We still have a record number of young people without jobs, and there has been a recent exposure of low wages, low hours and the dreaded zero-hours contract. Not sure that most of us can feel anything good about all that.
