A spokesman for the terrorists involved in the Kenyan outrage has stated, for what that's worth, that no foreigners are involved. If true, Lewthwaite is being blamed in the wrong.

Ah I understand now but this fact wasn't in the OP's thread, and the BBC's report is a little vague, much better to get the facts (if that's what they are) from a source with no sensitivities.

If true, If and when caught she should sufferer the usual Islamic punishment.

Gromit, not sure SHE should have been alerted - she knew where she was going - but bearing in mind that her husband, a 7/7 bomber, was a convert and so was she, it might not have been a bad idea to keep an eye on her.

The number of converts involved in acts of terrorism is actually quite astonishing.

Reports would suggest that this woman is involved in the attack in Nairobi. Fingers crossed this is/was her last attack of such a nature.

The Kenyan authorities have now confirmed Britons and Americans are involved in this attack.

There is a civil war going on in Somalia

The government controls the capital but not much else al-Shabaab which is an al-Qaeda affiliated group controls much ofthe countryside

With the Somalian Government agreement Kenyan forces have been crossing into Somalia and fighting the millitanats

Al shabaab/alqueda etc. have been using Somalia as a terrorist training ground and a base from which to export terrorism. Not least to Kenya, em. Why should they sit on their hands or turn a blind eye to what's going on. I applaud what they're doing.

Did our security services fail? Well we probebly wont know the answer to that for 50 years.

They are not called the secret service for nothing, the clue is in the name. Maybe they thought that letting her go may lead them to better things, ie the ring leaders. But maybe not, like I say we wont know for 50 years.

I am sorry to say this & I do know that there are Muslims out there who are very good people but I feel nowadays that this religion has become a religion of evil, & it begs the question of why their own leaders are not condemning the terrorist offshoots of the Prophet & dealing with them in the interests of the world as a whole.

One receives that very light sentence for stealing, if she has been involved in terrorism, I would have thought that the sentence for that would have been much more harsh.
