First Jake Straw and now David Blunkett, are beginning to speak the truth regarding immigration, but the difference is it seems it is more acceptable for them to do so.

/// If a Right-wing politician or newspaper had spoken in such terms, there would have been uproar, and opprobrium from many on the Left. Yet there has been silence. As a Labour MP, Mr Blunkett is allowed — just — to say things which a person on the Right would not be. ///

//Anyone who relies on the BBC for news ...//

he is not a fan then , i see .
here are the bits that the Mail and Express missed out of their reports.

// The MP said "phenomenal" progress was being made by community groups to improve integration in Page Hall but the government's decision to axe Labour's Migration Impact Fund - a £50m pot for councils to ease pressure on housing, schools and hospitals - was hampering these efforts.

"We are not asking for a lot of money. We are just asking for a bit of understanding from government. A bit of interest. The government's just not interested. It's absolutely pivotal to holding this community together." //

If you want to read the story without the Daily Mail spin, here is the original report (Also debunks the opening paragraph of the Mail piece thaT SAYS THE BBC HAVE IGNORED THE COMMENTS).

Never had much time for Blunket but in this he has had the experience to justify his claims.

Won't go down well with the liberal left but certainly will go down well with proper left wing labour voters.

Although the liberal left will never admit it the real left also have concerns but then as the working man they are sneered on by the liberal left.

Dont believe me? Watch for the right-on brigade piling on here soon.
I remember when Hague was leader of the Tories, and coming up to an election he mentioned immigration as a problem and was shouted down by Labour as being racist and having racist policies.

But of course as Enoch Powell said all those years ago, immigration has now become a "non subject" that no politician is allowed to talk about.

And because no political party will talk about it we have now sleep walked into a situation where we have now allowed millions into this country, many of whom we don't want here and are just living off the state, or off the proceeds of crime.

Areas of some of our cities are almost no-go areas for "whites", and most large British cities have their ghetto areas that all whites have moved out from and the immigrants have dragged down to the level they are used to in their own countries.

And of course it is too late to do anything about it, we are now stuck with it. And with the stupid EU no-borders rule it will get worse.
I dont think you read the story either in your blind hatred of the mail

//in view of the fact that the BBC in London has virtually ignored the story,//

If I recall correctly you dont live in London wouldn't know? correct me if I am mistaken.
//shouted down by Labour as being racist and having racist policies//

True, but to be fair it was a Party hijacked by a bunch of Islington coffee shop right-on liberals, not the true Labour party.

Perhaps the BBC in London did not report it because it was referring to an area of Sheffield on BBC Radio.

Mr Blunkett's comments are clearly about this area of Sheffield. For the Mail and Express to expand that to all other cities is not what he said.
VHG what does "almost" in "almost no go areas for whites" mean? It doesn't mean they are, or you'd have said so. So what is it that prompts you to say that they are almost?

Just out of curiosity,
Who's JAKE Straw (OP)?

/// Tensions between local people and Roma migrants could escalate into rioting unless action is taken to improve integration, David Blunkett has warned. ///

Not "Rivers of Blood" surely?
The usual Right Wing Xenophobics having there customary rant I see.
Typical spin from The Daily Mail and its mindless flock of apologists

Surely you are not suggesting that Jack Straw and David Blunkett are Right Wing Xenophobics, are you?
For those of a certain age, "right on" is literally only one synapse removed from "w-Rick. People's Poet"

Bokko!

"Rivers of blood", AOG. Yes, that may well be it.

L.P. Hartley's "The past is a foreign country, they do things differently there" is being rewritten to "The future is...."

Wow now Nick Clegg of all people admits that some immigrants are in opposition to the "The British Way Of Life" all that remains now is for David Cameron to admit the same, and then this country can get down to some constructive debating on the wrongs of mass immigration.

Yes, AOG, he could be talking about " the travelling community". Any foreigner, and that includes British people who are new to an area, must learn to adjust to the ways and customs of the locals or face the consequences of not doing so.

But, in itself , this is not opening a debate about immigration in general. It is confined to the behaviour of one small group, numbering, at most, 200,000.

Care for 200,000 of them settling near you Fred?

A simple 'Yes' or 'No' will suffice.
What strikes me is that it's not about 'race' at all. A complete red herring.

What Brits really hate is anyone who is one or more of: unemployable, financially needy or simply has "lower standards". Don't want our precious property prices dragged down, do we. *

Just listen to the vehemence with which people deliver the word 'scum' at other people. And I include white people aiming it at other whites.

There are people who don't get along with their fellow countrymen from the town 10 miles down the road.

Any "outsider" group gets a rough time, basically. What hope do foreigners have?

* Obscure filmic reference. Recently been on TV.

If one watching the TV news last night, one couldn't have failed to notice that it was mainly the Asian community that were 'up in arms' over this influx of Roma migrants into their area.

This is why the politicians are now getting concerned, but when the indigenous population voiced similar concerns regarding the huge influx of Blacks and Asians into their areas, they were classed as racists.

Not so now, the politicians who allowed our country to be changed out of all recognition to what it once was pre the 1960s, are now coming out of the closet to voice their concerns over this particular section of people who are upsetting those who also came to this country to settle.
