You go down to the bar as usual, and the next thing is you're dead...Goes to prove that you just never know when your time is up. Terrible.

/// thats what me and stokemaveric said earlier carolegif there always seems to be something awful happen around christmas time...///

Don't you think that there are awful things happening throughout the year, we just attach more emotion to them at this time of the year and other notable occasions ie "it was on his birthday", they were on the first day of their holiday" etc, etc?

But tragic no matter what.

It is tragic, lives lost and people badly injured. Christmas is supposed to be a time of celebration, so it always seems to feel worse if something bad happens around that time. My thoughts and prayers are with all those involved,
Question Author
two more of the victims named. female police officer and the pilot from the helicopter.
Question Author
latest police update. confirmed 2 police officers and pilot dead, slow progress continues at the site, helicopter was returning to the helipad at the time of the accident, no comment made re further casualties at the scene.
I think it's going to take some time to make the building safe before they (rescuers) can go in to recover those left behind :-(
So sad for all involved. prayers go to families but where had helicopter been? What had they been doing? We're they travelling really low over built up area? Or had it just dropped out of the sky?
I don't seem to have heard or read anything about these facts.
There won't be any more news for quite a while. The AAIB will need to complete their investigations and that will take quite a long time.
