What is their agenda?
It's obvious, now that I've read the Charter... I feel so stupid!

More weasel words from the muesli-munchers but there's no hiding the uncomfortable truth behind AOG's post.
If we lived in a world where no-one would dare to introduce a 'black only' award but was awash with ' white only' awards you would, quite rightly, stamp your little feet at the injustice of it all.
I don't have to tell you, AOG, that in a future, fairer world people will look pityingly on the convoluted, juvenile reasoning of your detractors and fete you for your clear, reasoned analysis.
And to that end, I wonder how you'd feel about being nominated for this 'ABer of the year' award.
While I'm sure you've no interest in personal gratification, it would show the 'right-on' crowd the folly of the campaign they appear to be waging against you. And give, what I believe to be, the silent majority a chance to show our appreciation.

Do you see a need for a white-only award, svejk? Can't see any legal objection to one. Why do you think there aren't any ?
"Right on crowd"? Surely some mistake! I thought we were a brigade.

No. I thought I made that clear in my post. Nor can I see a need for a 'black only' award in football, journalism or music. Or an association for black police officers or footballers. Or the need for black only carers for black people.
To answer your other points. Although I neither want or see a need for a 'white only' award, association, etc, I'd be surprised if you could set one up. If there wasn't a specific law against it, some other piece of legislation would be used/misused against you. Even if that couldn't happen, its the perception of what would happen which might be why there aren't any. Or it could just be that white people don't like being divisive or getting patronised.

Apologies to QM. Of course you're in a Brigade.

It cancels out all the injustice of British colonialism and the slave trade.
Well, svejk, bang goes London Welsh and every other association or body, entry to which depends upon someone being of a nationality or having some shared characteristic ,from the Burma Star Association to the Carlton Club (you have to be a Tory).

All these bodies, and any awards framed within such a definition, exist for the furtherance of the group specified. How is furthering the interests of people who are black any worse than furthering the interests of those who are, say, Welsh or Tories ?

Best answer award to svejk

Brilliantly funny satire. Perhaps a little over-egged but still hilarious.
Well, I'd vote for AOG being ABer of the Year. He enlivens News in a way which is unique to him and this site is all the better for it.
Me too

AB without aog would be like Christmas without a turkey

*** It cancels out all the injustice of British colonialism and the slave trade.***

Oh if it takes that award to cancel out all the injustice of British colonialism and the slave trade once and for all, then I am all for it, because I along with many, many more are getting rather tired of the actions of my long gone ancestors still being used in the 21 century as a beating stick on the backs of all white people.
Quite, AOG. It has nothing to do with folk memory of slavery or colonialism ! It has everything to do with advancing a group and rewarding its members for achievement within that group. That black men were once slaves is an irrelevant coincidence.
