They also said that where these operate in other countries, the windows of the store are often opaque, so passers-by don't see these people shopping in this store (this seemed odd to me, surely these days there is no stigma to being hard up)? Also I don't entirely understand the difference between this and other pound-type shops - our Poundstretcher sells branded cola and other branded items for a quid already, and has been doing so for years.
