Now it's really getting crazy.
What next? Chips to be banned in case they form an incantation to summon the devil when tipped into the lid of your burger box.

This is rather bizarre by the Scotsman. Sometimes some Tweeter comes across an old story on the BBC site and tells the world, and the rush of people to click on the link (pesumably clicking away again after 3 seconds) breifly propels it to the BBC list of "most viewed" stories.
But the link would take you to the original 2005 BBC page with the original date on the story. They don't confuse people by plonking today's date on the page. Hardly douglas's fault that he was misled.

I just want to add- I was not blaming Douglas for posting the story- but the very first thing i noted when I read the story was the date - I was puzzled at why an 8 year old story was being referenced, was all, and so I queried whether something recently had happened to update the story, because the implication of the rest of the story was that this was a happening story. In fact its 8 years old, with nothing new to report, and only caught Douglas's eye I assume because it was top of the list of the "most viewed" stories in The Scotsman.
Then Douglas gets all defensive and sarcastic/ insulting over nothing, as far as I can see, so I am not going to drop it then ;) Why not just acknowledge the fact that is was an old story and move on?
But as far as the story itself is concerned - it is a storm in a teacup -it was then, and it most certainly is now, 8 years on and many balls of tumbleweed later.
