Why are our press going into such a frenzy over this, I could understand it if it had been one of our politicians 'playing away' but a Frenchman, who happens to be the President why?
The 'First Lady' isn't even his wife?

Yup, less than thirty miles is far enough away for me.And the Hexagone is over twice the area of the UK, so that's pretty small.
Normally, the French are not interested in their Presidents' extra-marital affairs though, so , when they are, it is of interest here, just because of the novelty.

Hollande is not popular, he wasn't when he came to power, now he has introduced a hike in taxes for the so called wealthy, even less so, having a tangled love life is nothing new for French Politicians, but actually it is problematic if it interferes with his day to day running of the country, as it would be for any PM or President, that is if it gets out, which this has.
