For one who flaunts the respect flag a little too often you showed considerable disrespect on this thread AOG.

AOG - "Why this contestant posting on the deaths of certain celebrities sad and tragic as they may be ..."
simply because celebrities, by definition, are known to a lot of people, and their death will mean something to those who have seen and / or admired their work, as in the case of R L-P.
That is not to infer that the loss of someone not at all famous is any less tragic - but neither is it to infer, as your post seems to, that this lady's death is more tragic because of her circomstances.
All bereavements are sad for those involved as you say - which rather negates the point of your post.

That is sad and too young, he was brilliant as Trigger.
Have some agreement with AOG (although this may not have been the right place to post it). I suggested long ago that there should be an RIP type topic as these threads come out on a regular basis, usually with more than one at a time. There are 2 on Triggs (as far as I know) going at the moment.

Roger Lloyd-Pack was NOT a celebrity aog
'Celebrity' is a term best applied to people who have no apparent justification for their renown other than being well known - such as being filmed for a reality show or being the latest squeeze of a successful footballer
Roger Lloyd-Pack was in fact a well known, well respected and much loved Actor who, as such, touched a great many lives and left them enhanced in some small way by his talent and artistry.

Very sad news. I remember an interview with Kathy Burke, who said that she saw him in a corner at a party. She thought he was being standoffish, so she went over for a chat and found him to be painfully shy, not aloof. I've never forgotten that, as it shows that not all famous people are big-headed and confident. RIP.
Zeuhl, 'celebrity' refers to someone celebrated to one degree or another for something they've done. Your definition is related to the rise of the celebrity boozer or serial baby makers of little real worth or interest as featured in various magazines etc.
Roger Lloyd Pack WAS a celebrity in the true sense of the word.
