Do you agree that this is the perfect come-back for those who wish to express their distaste with the comments made by UKIP councillor David Silvester?

Or do you think it's a bit tacky/childish?

I think it's a sublimely funny idea...and not malicious (eg. 'Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead').

Also, as an added bonus, it means a halfway decent number one to boot!

Your thoughts?

Rain is the least of it. This man likens the floods to the pestilence sent by God, so we had better look out for plagues of boils, locusts and widespread murrain among others. Are there any hit songs about locusts, just in case?
I don't think Gordon Brown called his party workers 'sluts' nor did he suggest that God's wrath was being visited upon the UK in divine judgement!

He referred to a woman who'd just given him a 'they're over here stealing our jobs' rant as biggoted - and he may have had a point!

Now if you can't see the difference between those I suggest you vote UKIP!

Actually what am I saying? - please vote UKIP and ask all your friends to vote UKIP
Morning SP, Fair enough to argue against something you don’t agree with, but that? He doesn’t need others to make him a laughing stock. He’s managed that perfectly well by himself.

Jake, I don’t think it’s entirely fair to tar all members of UKIP with the same brush. It's spiteful and petty.
Gordon Brown was well known for his rants, over many things, read the offerings of Tony Blair, Peter Mandelson, Alistair Campbell, as to whether the woman had a point, it was alright for him to express those views was it, even if he thought he was off the microphone, shows what he thought of her and indeed the electorate that has issues with immigration, she had a valid point, she didn't rant at him as far as i am aware.

All it is going to do is fuel the publicity for him. Keep on with things like this and he will end up on countless chat shows spouting his 'beliefs'.

Remember he really does believe this, and countless others will too from the religious community (and not just Christians)
jake, where is she ranting, she asked about any number of issues

chewn, so ok to make childish points over a UKIP member going off, then expect one to agree with Gordon Brown over his bigoted comments, he was PM, you would have thought he had more sense. The woman is clearly not ranting, just listen to what she has to say.

Gordon Brown was a control freak in meltdown - never a pretty sight.
she worked for Rochdale Council for thirty years, talks of tax, pension, debt, student fees, and sundry other matters that concern many, so he calls her a bigot, she voiced a point that many have made on here, in the news, over uncontrolled immigration, so that's alright then.

did you listen to all of what she said, or just like some on here being selective. Brown was a nasty control freak, who should never have got the job, she was a Labour voter, now i very much doubt it.
perhaps as a Labour councillor working for Rochdale she had far more experience of the problems associated with the place, as we have seen more stories of Rochdale in the news of late due to the Predatory Pakistani men, some of whom have ended up in jail for their vile behaviour. and immigration is not a subject that is going to go away, not from the right, left or dead centre. Its a hot topic, and one which no party addresses properly
FredPuli, Peter Cowap did a lovely song called "Crickets" but I have never been able to find it in MP3 format.
so we have moved from "gay marriage causes floods" to "Predatory Pakistanis" - funny how that happened.

When Gordon Brown was caught out, it was a huge news story. It ran for days. I think he deservedly got a kicking from the media for that.

Not sure whether anyone is really looking for their 15 minutes...this seems to be one of those occasions where someone has had the idea, and social media and now the papers have picked up on it, because it's a funny (IMO) and non-malicious come-back.

Also, I believe that people are using the occasion to signal their support of same sex marriages which come into effect in the next few weeks.

Incidentally, and with the same tongue/cheek interface, there's now a Twitter account called @UKIPweather, with witticisms such:

"Council gritters on high alert after a man in Peterborough goes into a pub and orders a white wine"

"Met office warns that temperatures will plummet as a result of a man in Cumbria enthusiastically browsing a home furnishings catalogue"

and my favourite:

"Relief for residents near the river Wye as a Hertford man offers his colleagues a Fisherman's Friend without any attempt at gay innuendo."

I reckon people will start unfollowing fairly soon, but I'm finding it quite funny whilst it lasts.
should have gone with YMCA!
