Simply because it is not the recognised dress code, men wear man style clothes and women wear women's style clothes.

Tell me honestly, how would you feel if your son was to turn up to a formal event that you were attending, dressed as a woman?

Would it not be the son's choice? And besides, anyone brave enough to go out wearing clothing traditionally associated with the opposite gender is likely to put a fair bit of effort into it so that most people might not notice. Who, really, does it hurt?

I expect the parents might be a bit upset and find it difficult to cope with, but any parent worth their salt will accept their child for who he or she is.

I like Grayson Perry, he has such a twinkle in his eye. I saw the program he did for Channel 4. He was very honest about what he was doing and yet seemed to respect the taste of the people he was interviewing even while he criticised it.

His Reith Lectures this year were excellent. (The woman announcing him each day got on my wick, I couldn't be sure if she was taking the P or just weird.)

If any of you think that looking like a "tw*t" is a reason for you to object to how someone else looks, I am glad you don't see me in 'white tie and tails', or full morning dress, or a bowler hat, or Villebrequin bathing shorts or in wig, gown, bands and robes, that's all I can say !

Glad to see that some people have so little else to be concerned with that they are getting all hot under the collar about a bloke in a dress. At least he made an effort, one of the last transvestites I saw seemed to have just put a skirt on with his normal clothes, no effort whatsoever.
