Yes. I wouldn't complain about it but it's offensive.
Yes, I'm not sure how anyone could not find it offensive - except maybe men.
As a bloke, I find it offensive towards women. Also 'The women are being offered free shots' - penicillin is it, to prevent the spread of STIs?
The pub can be politely described as 'alternative', the poster is very much in keeping with that ethos.

I would probably find it offensive if it was on the wall of my local but given the context I don't find it offensive.
Seems to be offensive mainly to the feminists. Now they have managed to get the event cancelled so anyone hoping for a bit of fun on the night can thank them.

Interesting to see it was designed by a woman though!

Personally I would not have done it, apart from being obviously offensive to some I would have thought it put women off so detrimental to business.
/// Ruth Greenburg, from the Nottingham Feminist Action Network, said "What self-respecting woman is going to go along to a speed dating event that sells itself to men in that way?" ///

Perhaps they are not the ones that they want along, hence the poster:

"Bag a ***, Grab a Hag". :0)
Maybe the women turning up to the event would have been sl@gs and hags - in that case how can it be offensive?

Don't like what's being advertised? Then don't go along to the event instead of complaining and ruining it for those who wanted to go
The type of pub it is I doubt any of their regulars would have been put off...

here's the pubs website

IMO Yes.
Interesting to see that the word Sl*g has been censored, good job it's not referring to those heaps in Wales.
I have an image of Ena and Minnie sat in The Rovers with that poster above their head!

Sorry :-/
It's more weird than anything. I mean what sane woman would want to take part in a speed dating event called 'bag a ***, grab a hag'.
not pleasant at all.
I find it distasteful, even at an 'alternative' venue like that, I am sure Lydia could have been more imaginative with her design skills.

Scrivens...........best answer ^^ ;-)

To be quite honest, I do not know what is offensive and what is not any more.
joeluke - "Maybe the women turning up to the event would have been sl@gs and hags - in that case how can it be offensive?"

That's a great use of irony for a Friday ... you were being ironic weren't you?
so if you called black people or homosexuals some decidedly dodgy name, splashed it across a poster, that would be right, unlikely i would have thought, women don't need labels like this, and the woman who thinks its some form of empowerment doesn't know what she is talking about. Aving a larf, hardly.

Good bit of free advertising though!
There's no such thing as bad publicity - I bet the place will be heaving now.
