Easy to say that from the comfort of your armchair Steve.

The problem is, what to do? You can't blame the coalition, any thing requiring doing will take years so labour should have started it, but there again labour could not forsee a freak set of weather conditions.

The problem is it is simply nature at work. OK there are elements on all sides compounding it but the bottom line is; stop building on flood plains and if you do dont expect everyone else to bail you out.

We are an Island, you would never run out of places to defend and plugging one place could well just shunt the problem somewhere else.

There has been damage to structures but the majority are serviceable and most local authorities report that they do not anticipate a need for Welsh Government flood and coastal erosion grant funding support to restore the damage.//

if that's true Gromit, how is it that the Cambrian coast line became devastated back in January, and (at the latest estimate) will remain closed until May, thus losing the area thousands in tourist dollars from the Easter and may-day periods?
