Just back from a terrible curry (service, lukewarm food, place empty, music suddenly went off, etc) and as I was paying the waiter indicated the children and asked if they were my grandchildren. Talk about adding insult to injury :(

Oooh... Bet they have a lot of repeat custom!
I hope you didn't leave a tip!
Oh....harsh!!
Question Author
Certainly didn't leave a tip, didn't even get a mint chocolate.
I did tell you not to park the broomstick in the umbrella stand :+)
How rude! Not what you want from a nice meal out.
Question Author
It wasn't even a nice meal out :(
Sorry, I meant what was intended to be a nice meal out. Last thing you needed after all the happenings of yesterday with the discos being cancelled as well.
Blimey, from what I can tell from your posts, you are very young. It must have been a bad night for the waiter and he felt like being mischievous.

I'm not young (44) but I'm hardly ancient. Laughed so much when I told himself that I had a coughing fit. It's his fault, he's the old one!
Why did you not tell the that the Curry was Crp Sherr? If it was me, they would have been told.
MrG would sympathise, Sherr......in a posh gent's outfitters he asked if I liked the jacket he was trying on. I said yes....lovely...
The sales chap said.....There, Sir....if your daughter likes it your wife is sure to like it too.......Smarmy bu99er.

I smiled and replied......I'm not his daughter...I'm his mistress and his wife will hate the jacket.....☻
Sher, I realise it must have knocked your self confidence, but I'm surprised you didn't have a sarcastic reply to him.
I'm the same age as you sherrardk, and my OH is ancient! I used to get mistaken for his daughter, and my son as his grandson, but it doesn't happen any more :(
I can only assume he thought because you and your children get on so well, he thought you had to be their very young granny (ie not a harassed mother)

I have been mistaken as his daughter many moons ago (had forgotten that). I didn't complain about the curry as judging by how empty the place was and the phone didn't ring once when we were there they have got bigger things to worry about. Just wont be going back.
Lol I like that Gness 10/10 xx
i also had a rubbish meal out today. I am stingy and hate paying loads of mioney for food, but it was lovely food, terrible teribble service
I don't like to rub it in but Trish and I are just in from an old friends birthday celebration at a local pub. About forty of us aged from about 5 to 75. The meal, a carvery was, was excellent as was the service. All in all an excellent night
I'm a great believer in telling restaurants if they give bad service - otherwise they ever going to know.

It's a 'British disease' to say nothing, never return, and moan to all and sundry, and it helps no-one.

Ever wondered why other nations have good service? Because they won't settle for bad service.
