Now barbies and sausages are a no go.

Going to be a bit tough on the Aussies ! (Except I am sure they will tell them where they can stick their report)

each other i suppose.
ignore all these scare stories, i find that the best thing to remember is if you like it, if it takes nice, if it doesn't do masses amounts of harm then have it. Be it ice cream, or a juicy steak
going to be a bit tough on Brits, isn't it? They'll have to have muesli for breakfast.

I dont think many Brits down here in the South have a fry up these days - unless as a weekend treat.

But yes it will be probably be tough on the Northerners.
Moderation in all things you consume. A balanced diet, with the emphasis on smaller portions, more vegetables, more fruit, less processed meat.

Then you can eat pretty much anything you want ;)
The northerners can't afford fry ups. They eat gruel, I think. Three times a day.
White wine spritzers and game casserole actually Till.
i still do on the odd occasion, its a good way to start a day.
Lettuce sandwiches, must be brown bread, and water.
How about a nice meat and potato pie sandwich? No harm in that, surely!
Gruel?we're lucky to get a glass of water and a slice of bread

Nuts!
ymb, working men's cafes still abound, and are usually full to brimming with patrons scoffing their English Breakfast.
emmie you're spot on,We used to have and old boy in our fishing club who'd worked all his life as a driver and it didn't matter where we went he always knew where to get the best value meals.Nothing fancy just good old plain value for money food
I eat what I like and never listen to all these 'horror' stories. There'll be another one next week !
it doesn't have to be the working man's cafe either, there are at least 6 cafe/restaurants across the capital i know, that do the best slap up full monty breakfast, max a fiver, one i know does it for 3.50p - includes bread and a tea or coffee.
Let them eat cake is what I say: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Competitions/Question1317778.html

(Also, it's only the media who seem to believe that people do what the Gov/public bodies say - most people are well aware of trading risk for "good things" - whatever they might be)
Home made sourdough bread is very nutritious and inexpensive and with a bit of creativity can be the main ingredient in a number of delicious dishes.
:o) if you must..
doesn't seem very appetising.
Home made sourdough bread is delicious but in all honesty I wouldn't like to base a diet on it. I does make a good substrate for eggs, cheese, etc.
