I don't know if I read or imagined this but was part of the plane blown up over Lockerbie, found in Russia, carried there on the jet stream

if it was then it must have been a pan-am serviette ? ..without the specific 747 part number on "whatever" it was how do they know it was from the lockerbie crash

whilst massive, it was largely contained within the UK.

There are websites going into detail about where every little last part of everything ended up and as mushroom says was all within UK - something like 130 miles away on east coast if I remember right.

No I think this is in the league of a man in a white van from Looe won the whitewater rafting at the Olympics

or a fellow in a deck chair from the Japanese tsunami ended up on a cornish beach

But it broke up almost immediately
and took 30 mins to hit the ground all done on radar
