That Anti-Gay Us Reverend Has Now Died

We debated this on here last week. Well, he has finally gone to meet his Maker, although what his God will make of him is anybodys guess. One less bigot in the world today it would seem, which can't be a bad thing I suppose.

A doughty civil rights campaigner apparently - so at least once upon a time he was able to keep his personal prejudices separate from his public life. Just seems sad that his obsession with his own brand of religion warped a whole extended family.

It seems the WBC are not big on funerals, and apparently were not planning to have one for Fred Phelps;

I'm with anneasquith on this.
The best thing that could happen now, is for his family and the WBC to be accorded the respect that they do not show the families of fallen soldiers and gay people.
If, however, their grief is honoured and they continue to act as they do, then on the anniversary of his death, I would totally support a mass party to be held at his graveside, with revellers dressed in red suits dancing the can-can.
