A wise thing to do, we sometimes forget that there are labour supporters that do not share Labour's EU subjugtion dream and there are some marginals oop North that may indeed be vulnerable, not directly to UKIP of course but lost Labour votes could let in other parties beside labour.
well, the budget was all about bribing older Tory voters to stay away from Ukip. !'m £190 better off and I wasn't going to vote Ukip anyway. I won't mind if Labour offer me similar bribes.
A shame really - it just feeds their (UKIP's) publicity machine. Without such hysterical reactions from both the major parties UKIP would go the way of the Monster Raving Loony Party.

Or could it be that they are the party who are addressing popular public concerns, that the other parties fail to do so?
the Monster Raving Loonies were a very forward-thinking party and many of their derided policies (eg on voting age) later became law. Ukip just want to bring back the policies of the 14th century.

Ridiculous comments like do not help do they?

Ignore UKIP at your peril.
who or what am I supposed to be helping, ymb?

For what it's worth - in the 14th century when people were expelled from England they had to take the first ship out. If there wasn't a ship that day, they had to wade out in the water to their waist, to show they were trying.

You think Ukip would disapprove?
You aer taking the rediculous to attempt to riddicule them in typical left wing fashion.

What you seem to miss is they strike an accord with many, not for outlandish views are you are putting forward (which may be the opinion of a minority), but for the fact they are listening to what pretty much the majority of people want.

As I say, ridicule or ignore them at your peril be you tory, liberal or Labour.
All political parties would be wise to take UKIP seriously. They're saying quite a lot of things that a lot of people want to hear.
This isn't anything new or significant, this has been the Labour Party's analysis for a long time.

UKiP beat the Labour Party in the 2009 European Elections and will probably do the same in May.

So it would be foolish for Labour to claim they are not a threat when they know that in all probability, UKiP will push them into third place.

Well we have all witnessed various attempts by all the main parties to discredit and ridicule UKIP, but this takes about the biscuit.

Vote UKIP and we will might see people expelled from Britain wading in the channel up their waists in water. LOL
Could the men in the grey suits, from both major parties, not plant some eccentrics in the ranks of UKIP? Then, at an appropriate moment they could be instructed to come out with egregious statements to make the party look barmy.
No sign of the usual intolerant bigots as yet then. Usually whenever UKIP gets mentioned the hysterical undemocratic drama queens resort to the usual juvenile name calling and other bizarre hyper-nonsense. Hopefully things are improving here , unless its down to the subject being discussed !
