A crash is far more likely than a hijacking. What on earth would hijackers do with all those people ? Supplies would be a nightmare, too, especially for a place so isolated that it can swallow up an aircraft without a trace.
Sad to say, a crash is the only way to account for the disappearance.
/There are satellite phones but you'd not see them very often./If the dish for a satellite phone is as big and as tricky to set up as my satellite dish I wouldn't try to use it on top of a jet airline:o),
I can't understand why they are searching for the plane 1000 miles further than the distance it was known to have fuel for.
