It never ceases to amaze me that supporters of Labour cannot/will not grasp the fact that when Labour are in power, without fail, they bring the Country to the brink of Financial Ruin, which the Tories have to try and put right during their next term in office whilst being castigated by the deluded Labour voters for the state of the Nation. The deluded will then out of habit put Labour back in power at the next Election and start the whole sorry cycle all over again!

He's also the same one who more recently had his workfare schemes deemed illegal, and then rushed through a disgraceful law which prevented the DWP from having to compensate the people it had been illegally shafting all this time.

And to all those who whinge about Labour supporters - I agree, Labour are extremely undesirable. However, I'm getting really sick of being treated like some kind of fanatical Labour supporter purely because I find the disgusting mentality, persistent incompetence and spite of the present government absolutely repulsive.

No, he's just the font man, same as all chancellors, how much actual input to a budget do you imagine any chancellor through history actually has? Why do you think that none of them ever do anything radical? It's the safe backroom boys that do it all.

I don't quite follow, Baldric - Maudling was admitting the Tories had got the country in a financial mess and Labour would have to try to get it out... at the last change of government, Labour left the coalition a similar note. These things aren't as party-specific as is sometimes supposed.
