Where do you get the idea that Labour is "in favour of more immigration"? Have you read their policy statements on immigration recently?
And why does this article imply that the "minority" will be the voice of the majority? And how soon is soon?
The point of the article is that some within the tory ranks think that the rhetoric over immigrants and ethnics has gone too far and they risk alienating ( ooh pun there somewhere) a cohort of potential voters who may actually share some values in common with the tories.
Seems a perfectly sensible observation, and one that has been made before.

I have always found it odd that so many Asian people vote labour.
I have met many in my travels and by far the majority make me look like a liberal with some that would make Atilla the hun look like a commie.
They believe in freedom to run a business, get on in life and have a good life, educating their kids (often privately) and many are borderline racists. Not quite the profile of your average labour voter.
Of course most of the ones I have met are from the upper echelons of society not the dregs so maybe have a different viewpoint.

A lot of those that I know are out and out racists having a rabid hatred of Africans and Afro-Caribbeans, and even some of thier fellow Asians (who happen to come from the wrong side of the Khyber Pass). A number that I know are none too fond of white people either. “Borderline” gives them far too much credit. Racism is by no means the exclusive preserve of white English people.

i have found the same, whilst in work, and socially, that their core values as such are more conservative, and some were racist, against fellow Asians, fellow Africans, its not just a white thing, as some seem to suggest. I know Muslims who don't like Hindu's and vice versa. And i have to say that Black Afro Caribbean people who didn't care for others, who were darker skinned, heard this some years back, from a friend, i always wondered why.
It occurs to me that maybe many immigrants are not arriving 'well off', and most therefore experience not having a high income. And that those who feel disadvantaged in that way are more inclined to be community minded and want a more even distribution of the country's wealth to the lower paid; and consequently support the party most likely to move that way. Whist those able to 'rise' in the system and attract much wealth to themselves are more inclined to want a political system than tells folk they should fend for themselves.
If the above holds that would suggest a general trend for immigrants to naturally lean towards the left once here.
