It's reported that four police officers have been interviewed under caution on suspicion of manslaughter.

Manslaughter is only applicable if someone dies unintentionally as a result of a criminal act...I can't see how opening a gate to prevent people being crushed is a crime.

Firstly askyourgran, I'm not a Kiwi, I'm an ex-pat. Secondly, I was at Hillsborough. Thirdly, NZ is not as backward as you think. We have indoor toilets here now. Finally, well done for your abuse of a whole nation.

Thank you T&S, anyone who reads the Daily Record and takes it as read deserves to be questioned. If you were at Hillsborough do you think that the fans without tickets who got in were in any way to blame for the crush? As an ex-pat the rest of your 'whole' nation are probably sighing with relief, they probably have toilet paper now too.

they relatives have been unjustly treated - my only disbelief is that the truth is coming out

Thank you askyourgran. If I'd known you wanted more than one link, I'd have put one. Unfortunately, you are limited to 4000 characters on Answerbank replies, and I would have used my allocation. The point of mikey's original post was that police lied, re-wrote statements and (along with the FA) were culpable for what happened. An independent commission found that to be the case. As for people without tickets causing it, again this has been shown not to have been the case.
