is this the clown Ukip have just thrown out? A couple of years ago he would have been prime Ukip material, now he's an embarrassment even to them.
My view is that they do seem to be collecting more than their share of oddballs. But I guess that's the risk when most career politicians are heading towards Labour & Conservative membership.
A strange world view is the least offensive thing I can think of.
There is I suppose a chance that this person has mental health issues.

To be specific - why on earth have UKIP suspended Andre Lampitt???

I assumed that UKIP were the last bastion of non-PC views, which could be expressed without having to low-tow to the lefty liberal Islington-dwelling, Fair Trade coffee-swiling, rocket salad-eating chatterati like me (according to those in the know).

Would it not make more sense to say, "Sod it...let him say what he wants...this is who we are!"

If I were a UKIP supporter (and I doubt if that could every happen, because I know how to spell both my first name ands surname) I would be writing congratulatory letters to this young man...possibly using a pen filled with green ink.

So...should he have been suspended?

If so, why?

(Oh and before you ask TTT, this question is absolutely about 'stirring').

'ands'????

In a post where I'm slating the intelligence of others?

Strewth...
I don't share you view of them. It's never seemed a say what you want party to me, just a don't be cowed about stating your opinion one, but it needed to be reasonable, not wild. If not in tune with the party line then one can still overstep the limits. Or else it isn't a coherent party.
If UKIP are to succeed in drawing right-wing voters from the Tories they need to get rid of their more eccentric candidates. He had to go for the good of the party.

You know what? In his defence, and I *seriously* mean this - UKIP might get some gains by being the party of 'Everything Non-PC'!

I mean, from where I sit (outside a lefty liberal coffee house in North London where they play only lesbian salsa music or whatever), the one thing missing from British politics is a place where people can say what they want without fear of castigation from the PC zealots.

I honestly think that UKIP could capitalise on this.

Just because a young man welcomes AIDS thinning out Africans should not necessarily mean that he should be silenced.

Is that not what the PC zealots want?

I am being 100% genuine here...even though reading this post, I sound 100% sarcastic...

But ahas IS the party line on AIDS and Africans?

By the way...why don't italics work on AB any more???
does for me
I'm a bit suspicious here. Perhaps this is the start of painting each other black (no pun intended) in order to appear white as the driven snow as the elections appear on the horizon.

Oooh...now *that* is interesting.

I am a massive fan of conspiracy theo...

Hang on...Old_Geezer...how the hell are you managing to post italics?

I'm using Safari as a web browser on my MacBook...are you on Internet Explorer???
Tongue firmly in cheek sp - with a giggle seeping out round the edges!
As stated elsewhere, the italics feature seems only to work once on any post. Try twice and it bu99ers up both.
just testing
does it
sp, //I am being 100% genuine here...even though reading this post, I sound 100% sarcastic... //

I'm sorry to say this but you don't sound sarcastic - you sound like you have an axe to grind and are determined to grind it regardless. The man has been thrown out - his views are irrelevant.
I'm not surprised by this at all.
UKIP only throw their members out when this stuff becomes public, but let's face it... UKIP are BNP lite
well thanks for the clarification SP, I'm curently trying to work out how much vodka you've downed!

naomi24

Seriously - would this one man's views really put off people who truly believe in UKIP's cause?

I will freely admit that I will grind my axe when I hear of politicians who lobby against causes I believe in...but this guy's views are so 'out there' that to argue against them would be like trying to...to...stuff a blancmange into an envelope.

So my real question is - why would UKIP dump him?

Honest, isn't this what hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions of people crave? A party where you can say what you want? A party of free speech?

I disagree with what he said, and question why he would say it, but is it not refreshing that after two decades of PC, there's a party where people CAN say things like this???
