What happened to metal detectors in schools?

Where is the tough on crime?

Where is the knife legislation we were promised?

Or does it affect the little darlings 'ooman rights ?

He will be out in 5 years I am sure to continue his life of crime.
yes, not a policeman, fireman.paramedic or any other dangerous profession. dreadful.
Bloody horrific.
One of my sisters in law is a teacher at a high school, I once told her I would not do her job for £1m a year.
Wasn't a male teacher stabbed to death some years ago when he tried to break up a fight between pupils?
Viv, are you thinking of Philip Lawrence?

My husband was stabbed oh his thigh by a kid with a screwdriver - the kid was in the infants.
Yes, that's the one Daffy, I couldn't think of the poor man's name.

I know everyone is going to disagree with me but I cannot help being bewildered by this
I mean a 15 year old
How on earth can this happen
I share your bewilderment.

Society is failing those that do their best to bring the next generation up to speed.

This is the direct result of wishy washy right-on liberalism. The chattering classes in their Islington coffee shops have a lot to answer for as does Blair with is HRA.
This sort of attack is relatively rare these days, though. The last case anyone remembers is in the mid 90's. I don't see how you can link such an isolated incident to liberalism. Tragic case, not too far away from my old home. But a product of liberalism? Hardly. If this were the tenth such attack in the last year, down slightly after a peak during the 2000s, you would have a case. But it's not so you don't.
lol, the Islington coffee shops are to blame for everything!
can't think why the rabid right are so quick to forget, but serious crime is falling quite sharply

are the 'chattering classes' OK as long as they don't frequent the coffee shops in Islington?
I think a lot if people would be shocked by how 'rough' even some 'good' schools are. For the last two or three years of my job in teaching I was increasingly aware of how threatening some of the students were - I was shoved (when pregnant), verbally absurd, spat at, followed home by car by an older student, had to rescue a female student from her knife wielding (non-student) boyfriend, etc, etc.
If Ymb is to be believed then the drop in violent crime is due to years of liberalism and 'right on' thinking

Now that makes more sense.
best they stay there, Zeuhl, you don't want to meet a mob of lefties hyped up on espresso in a darkened street.
^ LOL

The Krays, The Sopranos, The Cappuchinos ....
How horrfic this kind of thing never happened in my day.
