Well his business is closing, his wife is supposedly divorcing him, what will happen to him when he is released? I reckon he will sell up whatever he has over here and fade away to Spain or somewhere with his daighter. Who were the people who stood with him outside court? How the mighty fall ... He thought he was untouchable.

How many of Max's victims now seek financial compensation.
If they say ...
We don't want any money. We just wanted to see justice done.
... and they don't make any claims ... that will probably show that he really was as bad as they say.
However ...
If we now see a financial gravy train, with all the "victims" snuffling in the trough ...
It will raise the inevitable suspicion that lots of people are seeing these cases as opportunistic cash cows, with the facts being so long ago that it's hard to prove either way.

But I am confident that the victims will be satisfied that justice has been done. A bit of money makes no difference to what happened all those years ago. I'm sure they will not demean themselves, and throw doubt upon their sincerity, by grubbing around for a bit of dirty cash.

The victims have closure. The offender is paying the penalty.
They would not want to open up the whole, painful matter all over again, merely to get their hands on some money, money, money, money, money ££££££$$$$$€€€€€£££££££££

just a point, the automatic release at the half way point in a sentence only applies where the original sentence was under 4 years.
With an 8 year term Clifford will have to serve 2/3rds of the sentence before applying for parole. Then he will have to go before the parole board to plead his case and release is not automatic.

of course the victims will be seeking financial recompense....he will have a tidy stash ring fenced somewhere though...many a client will be terrified that he will spill the beans and they will have to offer up some pay back to him on release he is a shrewd operator and will exploit everything and everybody to his advantage when needed..
