one Clifford put away isn't a bad result. But what the Starr allegations can have been that took them 18 months to dither over, I can't imagine.

If Hall has pleaded on one charge why not deal with him on that. He is 84 for Gawds sake and will die in Jail anyway.

Surely a trail is only going to cost a fortune and get nothing extra.

Starr will never be able to resume his life. There will always be those who bleat on about 'no smoke without fire' Normally we get a few on here, I'm sure they will be along shortly.

If people keep going on about a person who's been charged with nothing, in the context of those who have been accused and/or convicted, it's as clear a case of libel as I can think of.

It may seem one the one hand that it is pointless pursuing and prosecuting him on the other charges .

However on the other hand if you are one of the victims , then you would i suspect want to see him tried for what he did to you personally - if he wasn't, you would feel as though he has got away with what he did to you

It's not for the CPS to decide if a person is guilty - that is what the court is for.

They have discontinued the case against Starr due to lack of evidence

hc4361...I agree. I realise that these cases can't be investigated over a long weekend but the length of time he has had to wait is beyond a joke.

Yet another example of what harm can be done to someone when their identity is revealed before they are charged. His career is over as far as I can see. I am far from being a Freddie Star fan but what has happened to him can't possibly be right, or just in any shape or form.
