Can ayone see any justification for this photograph?
And would they have used a picture if the victims were a young British couple rather than African immigrants?

One of the reader responses is as follows:
"That's so not on to print these type of pictures. If they were the european victims of the Costa Concordia that sank a few months ago would you have shown these pictures too ? I don't think so. Every human deserves some dignity, especially in death; Shame on you."
Well said.

It is appalling, and no, they wouldn't have printed the pics had the poor sould been white, or heaven forbid British.
The Mail knows its readership well, it glorifies in tragedies like this, and then on its from page, it has a large picture of George Clooney'f fiancee. the reason for the lady being 'newsworthy'? She's returning to work!
It beggars belief.

Appalling to use that image in a so called family newspaper.

You can look at this two ways- one is its crass and unseemly to display the photographs because had they perhaps made it to the UK the Daily Mail would have been the first people spearheading the witch hunt to deport them. The second way of looking at it is it might actually make some people think about the unkindness and hatred they sometimes visit against immigrants generally if they are starkly aware of the risks and sorrow that follows their flight from their homeland.
Personally I don't find them distasteful, I just find it horribly sad and it makes me very grateful that I have never had to suffer the way these people have.
