Seroius question. The agovernment has been in power for 4 years and I was stuggling to think what they had done.

1. Free Schools.
2. Privatisation of Royal Mail.
3. Privatisation of Air Sea Rescue.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Regardless of whether you agree with the Coalition's policies, can you fill in the blanks. They must have done more than 3 things, but I am stuck to remember them.

i'll be getting the sunday times rich list, later on. (to see if sunny dave made it this year)
I shall post some of the more heart-warming tales from it.
// On the news just now , The rich have got Richer,That is another thing this lot have done for their chums. //

this is the politics of envy Farrier

The rich are rich so let's tax them ! - first really seen in the 1964 election,
Dennis Healey - I will tax them until the pips squeak ! [ riotous applause etc ]
Oh and Marxist Dave

// I think I must be a marxist - from everyone to their ability to everyone according to their need // - - - - an adequate description of Russian under Lenin 1920-24 and then Uncle Joe.

also
we are all socialists now ..... Edward VII 1906

and There is no political independence without economic independence.
Marx again.
If only the scots nats would take that lesson to heart ! the rt eing little haggis eaters !
> earlier this year Richard Murphy of Tax Research UK listed the ways in which the chancellor, George Osborne, had changed the tax regime for the largest corporations, and calculated that these concessions would cost the exchequer between £5bn and £10bn a year over the next six years.

At the higher end of his estimate, that money could have prevented all the benefit cuts overseen by the Department for Work and Pensions.
Tonyav, What will happen when that bubble bursts? Its got to happen sometime.
pass the sick bucket, lefty love in alert...... What a stupid question all this does is bring out the ritual bug bears of each side.

I've no idea what will happen, Farriercm, I agree, the bubble will burst ( it always does ).

Post some of the governments achievements TTT, that will be the best way to confirm this is a stupid question.
don't you get it roy, doesn't matter what I say, I can post a 100 acheivements but the anti British would just dismiss them. This is not a question about "acheivements", this is a lefty love in. I could have asked the same quesion about Noo Laba in 2002!
Whatever you think of them, NL (even in the same number of years) was a lot more proactive than the coalition has been. Of course, whether their activities were good or bad is open to debate, but they certainly did a lot.

Also, will you quit the "anti-British" crap? It's slightly pathetic.
This question contains a few urban myths. Some of the more significant to dispel::

"...while giving the rich further tax relief."

I assume, canary, that you are talking about the reduction in the top rate of tax from 50% to 45%. For all but one month of Labour's term in office 40% income tax was seen as perfectly adequate for the top rate. It increased to 50% in April 2010. This government reduced it to 45% - still 5% more than the Labour administration saw as sufficient for almost all of their 13 years in office. Also, more than twice as many people now pay 40% income tax than five years ago. At the other end of the scale the tax free personal allowance has been raised to £10k

"Created food banks."

Do a bit of research, farriercm, and you will discover that the Trussell Trust (the principle provider of food banks in the UK) opened its first outlet here in 2004.
"Do a bit of research, farriercm" - ROFL, judge!
Oh Dear !!!
My father told me many years ago that under a Tory government, the rich always get richer and the poor always get poorer. That was 40 years ago and the the events since 2010 haven't changed a bit.
