Rap is just pop music, no more and no less. It will pass over someday and the media will be banging on about something else, just as soon as the pop industry has invented something new. Pop music is essentially transitory. Even the Beatles are being forgotten. Both of my nieces, who are in their mid to late teens professed never to have heard of them at Xmas, when the subject came up.
We will still be reading Steinbeck a 100 years from now...does anybody think that this Rascal chap will be given the same honour ?
